Pamela Louise Gray-Hill

July 28, 1958 — March 29, 2011

The bible reads in I Thessalonians 5:18, "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." Many lives have been made brighter and more enriched because of Pam Hill. Her legacy of family togetherness, peace and love will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and friends. We give thanks to God, individually and collectively for sending her into our lives. For Pam, being a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, aunt, mentor, neighbor, counselor, and confidante were all honorable callings. Moreover, she was the true example of perseverance and strength. Pamela Louise Gray Hill was born on July 28, 1958, in Clark County, Arkansas to Frank Gray and Aline Knight. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She joined Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Lewis A. Shepherd, Jr. Pam attended Arkadelphia High School and worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart Super Center in Arkadelphia. Pam understood the significance of parental involvement in the education and nurturing of her children. She was active in every aspect of their lives. On September 1, 1995, Pam married Charles Hill and they shared a beautiful life together. Pam possessed a friendly spirit and never met a stranger. She made friends across race, gender, and inspired everyone who crossed her path. Pam had many interest and talents, but most of all she loved her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. But more than that, she loved the Lord, and went home to be with Him on March 29, 2011. She leaves a legacy of love and her memories will be cherished by her husband, Charles Hill of Arkadelphia, AR; her mother Aline Culp of Arkadelphia, AR; her children, Onyette Cummings of Arkadelphia, AR, Kyauna Hunter and her fiancé David Bell of Little Rock, AR, Jotham “Bud” Gray of Arkadelphia, AR and Kelsey Cummings of Houston, TX; four sisters, Ruby Johnson-Smith of Belloyd, WI, Marcella Buckley of Arkadelphia, AR, Darlene Jackson of Mesquite, TX, and Jennifer Gray of Arkadelphia, AR; seven brothers, Raymond Gray of Mesquite, TX, Rufus Gray of Grady, AR, Tim Gray of Arkadelphia, AR, Felton (Kasey) Gray of Portland, OE, Jeff Gray of Arkadelphia, AR, Dale (April) Culp of Malvern, AR, and Ricky Ross of Arkadelphia, AR; six grandchildren; two uncles, Roy C. Gray of Arkadelphia, AR, and Walter Knight of Belloyd, WI; two aunts, Erma Adams of Belloyd, WI and Linda F. Hopson of Madison, WI; and a host of nieces, nephews, several cousins and numerous friends. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2011, at Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Dr. Lewis A. Shepherd, Jr., is the pastor and will provide words of comfort to the family. The committal service and final resting place will be at Piney Grove Cemetery.
