Sadie Mae Jones - Buckley

Sadie Mae Jones Buckley was born into time on January 27, 1949, in Arkadelphia daughter of Vergie Mae Williams Carr and Roy Louis Jones. Sadie accepted Christ at a tender age and united with Piney Grove AME Church. She attended Peake High School and later moved her membership to New Bethel Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia after having worked for thirty years in Environmental Services. On Friday, January 6th in her 64th season of life she passed into the Lord’s embrace at the Malvern Nursing Home. She was preceded in transition by her parents, a sister, Sarah Ann Swink Dickerson and three other siblings. She leaves her memories and love with her husband, Prentiss Buckley, Sr.; her children, Prentiss Buckley, Jr. and Nicole Buckley of Arkadelphia; two step-children, Gweneva (Bennie) Jones of Arkadelphia and Bonnie Brown of Gurdon; one sister, Mary (Vincent) Williams of Arkadelphia; two brothers, Freeman (Vanessa) Jones of Arkadelphia and Ronnie (Sherrie) Brownlee of Dallas, Texas; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Buckley will lie in repose in the funeral home on Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends and other relatives 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. A service of celebration and love will be held on Saturday, January 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Piney Grove A.M.E. Church where Rev. Curtis Dansby is the pastor. Elder Robert Davis and Elder G. C. Nolan will serve as officiants The committal service and final resting place will be in Piney Grove Cemetery.
