Earnest Leon Hendrix-McClellan was born to the late Worthy Hendrix and Mattie McClellan on January 6, 1945 in Gurdon, Arkansas.
Earnest was a graduate of Gurdon High School. In 1963, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served for 5 years. He was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal.
In his later years he confided in Jehovah's Witness's. In 1983 Earnest was united holy matrimony to the late Ruby McClellan who preceded him in death on December 31, 2001.
Earnest leaves to cherish his memory; a sister Betty McCoy of Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter Anna Rodgers of Little Rock, Arkansas, two sons Paul McBride II & his wife Nicky of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Dion Taylor of Detroit, Michigan; one grandchild Paul McBride III., one aunt Sallie Tapps of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; one uncle Charile “Danky” McClellan of Los Angeles, CA; three nephews William T. Bell, Jr., Brian D. Bell, and Christopher McCoy, a very special niece Ronita F. Bell, and a host of cousins other relatives an numerous friends.
Final tributes to his life will be shared on Saturday, September 29, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah’s Witness and Brother Joe Ed Jones will officiate. Interment will be in Curtis Cemetery.
Earnest will lie in state on Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and the family will grett and receive friends 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Bearers of the casket will be Johnny Banks, Jack Keeling, Odell Lawson, Terry Rogers, James Taylor and Manuel Urban.
