No one knows the sadness of losing a love one, only those who have loss can tell the grief that is born in silence for the one's we love so much. Our heavenly father saw fit to take Celeste Jackson-White from this earth to a better place, on September 30, 2007. Her passing reminds us that life is uncertain, but death is sure. Celeste was the fifth child of the late Willie D. Anderson and Della Anderson Stewart. She was born December 16, 1940 in Holly Grove Arkansas. She was a graduate of Gurdon High School class of 1959. She moved to California in the early 60's. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Cecil Jackson-White. In 1964 they moved to Cambridge Mass., where she was employed by Phoenix Mutual Inc. of Hartford. In 1973 they moved to Manchester Conn. where she attended Manchester Memorial Hospital School of Radiology Technology where she was employed for more than 20 years. She was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church and was very faithful. Due to illness she moved to Pine Bluff Arkansas in 2003 to be near family. She united with Grace Episcopal Church and worked faithfully until she passed away. She was a volunteer at the pregnancy crisis center. She had many hobbies including traveling, collecting antiques, Broadway Shows and just a love for culture. She leaves to cherish sweet memories and 6 siblings: Joe and (Eloise) Anderson of San Jose Ca, Ithalean and (Clifford) Payne of Flint Michigan, Erma Solomon of River Bank Ca., Willie and (Frankie) Anderson of Southfield. Mi, Lurie and (Dorothy) Anderson of Pine Bluff Ark. and Gary Anderson of Sacramento Ca. Three Aunts, Roberta, Mattie and Opel of Topeka Ks. Two uncles Raymond and (Louise) Anderson of Cartersville Ga. and Charlie Anderson of Topeka, Ks. Many nieces and nephews and cousins. Special cousin Mary Francis Maultsby of Los Angeles Ca. and Godson Clarece "Buddy" Zachery Jr. of Manchester Conn. Close friends, Clarence and Shirley Zachery of Manchester Conn. Chris Cournoyer, Denise, Jan of all Conn. and friend Peter Stitt of San Diego Ca. Many others friends to numerous to recall. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Clarice Cook. A Celebration of her life will be Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where Dr. Lewis A. Shepherd, Jr., is pastor and Rev. Billy Blackmon will be the eulogist. The Committal Service & Final Resting Place will be in Holly Grove Cemetery, Okolona, Arkansas. Mrs. White will lie in state at Williams Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and the family will greet & receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
