It all began on August 24, 1935, in Clark County, Arkansas when Eli and Nellie Gray Summerville celebrated the birth of a new daughter, a baby girl they named Genoa.
At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized. Genoa knew the Lord, she understood the love of God and how He looks beyond our faults and meets our needs.
Genoa was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and Kitchen Committee. She was a retired employee of Levi Strauss/Aalfs.
She married Tommy Jones and to this union four children were born: Harold, Elizabeth, Arie, and Phillip.
She was a fun, loving woman and a friendly person whose smile touched the hearts of many. She was very caring, enjoyed cooking, and was a loving sister, wife, mother, aunt, niece, grandmother and friend.
Genoa was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Genoa Jones, after 72 seasons, received a summons no one can refuse and now rests in the arms of Jesus.
She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish a beautiful memory: her husband, Tommy Jones; two sons, Harold Jones of Arkadelphia and Phillip Jones of Tacoma, Washington; two daughters, Elizabeth Jones and Arie Lee Craig and her husband James of Arkadelphia; one brother, Eddie Lee Summerville of Arkadelphia; three sisters, Mattie Butler of Lansing, Michigan, Lois Conerly of Arkadelphia, and Geneva Fluewellen of Beaumont, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, numerous friends and the New Bethel Baptist Church family
