During the thanksgiving season, in the month of November, the 27th day and the year of 1950, a beautiful baby boy named Freddie Harrell Glenn was born in Burtsell, AR. Freddie was the first boy and the 4th child of seven children born to the late Freddie Lee and Minnie (Bunn) Glenn. Freddie’s parents, two sisters and one grandchild preceded him in death. Freddie who was affectionately called "BaBa" confessed his hope in Christ at an early age and united with New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Gurdon, AR. He attended Bell High School where he excelled in basketball. He received his diploma in 1968. After completing high school, Freddie enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He was a Vietnam veteran and completed his duty and term of service to his country. Upon returning to the states, Freddie enrolled and completed his training to obtain his commercial driver’s license. He later went to work for Hines Trucking Co. as well as Reynolds Metal. He was presently employed at Georgia Pacific Paper Co. formerly International Paper Co. On April 12, 1979, Freddie united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Ms. Beverly J. Hubbard. To this union four children were born. Freddie and Beverly enjoyed 28 wonderful years of marital bliss. During Freddie’s 57th season, on the 27th day of December, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. in Little Rock, AR at Baptist Medical Center, with the love of his life, Beverly, by his side, he was welcomed home by God and greeted by his parents, siblings and grandchild. He will be sorely missed but forever loved in our hearts. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: His wife, Beverly, three daughters, Amber Hubbard, Yolanda Glenn, and Dadrian Glenn, all of Gurdon, AR.; one son, Norris (Chrystal) Glenn of Gurdon, AR; Three sisters, Bobbie (Jessie) Reed, Angela (Phillip) CaBaong of Los Angeles, CA., and Polly (Maurice) Lever of Menomonee Falls, WI.; one brother, Doyle Glenn of Los Angeles, CA.; 6 grandchildren,; one uncle, EleHue Bunn of Los Angeles, CA; one aunt Etha Mae Bunn, of Gurdon, AR, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives & friends. Freddie will also be sorely missed by his brother and sister- in- laws, who he was especially fond: Paul, Ricky, Andrew, Tracy, Stacy, Gavin, Tenya, Carolyn and Barbara. You may visit Mr. Glenn at Williams Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 2, 2008, from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family will greet friends and share the Images of Life DVD from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Beverly and the children have planned a celebration of life for Mr. Freddie H. Glenn on Thursday, January 3, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Gurdon, Arkansas, Rev. William Colbert, pastor and Rev. Quintin C. Radford, Sr., pastor of Kingdom Authority Christian Ministries in Gurdon will deliver the message of comfort and encouragement. The committal service and final resting place will be in the St. Clair Rome Cemetery, Burtsell, Arkansas with full military honors. A reception honoring the life of Freddie H. Glenn will be at the Gurdon Municipal Building. Active bearers of the casket will be Jeff Utsey, Ronnie Lasker, Doug Walker, David Dickens, Paul Gatlin, Gavin Hawthorne, Ricky Williams, Stacy Hawthorne and Tracy Hawthorne. Honorary bearers of the casket will be Norris Glenn, EleHue Bunn, Phillip CaBaong, Doyle Glenn, Jessie Reed, Maurice Lever and Charles Dickens.
