Paul "Hulk" Andre' Robinson

September 29, 1958 — July 13, 2013

PAUL ANDRE' ROBINSON was born in Brewton, Alabama on September 29, 1958, to the late Paul and Lillian (Betts) Robinson. Paul traveled and was raised all over the United States because his father served in the U.S. Air Force. His travel and experiences taught him to love all mankind. His parents instilled in him the values of morality, integrity and humility. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at a very young age but that wasn't enough for him. When he was a teenager, he rededicated his life to the Lord and decided that, with better understanding of God an the Holy Spirit, that he wanted to be re-baptized, which he did at South Dade Christian Church on April 23, 1973. Paul graduated from Miami Palmetto Sr. High School in 1976, in Miami, Florida. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Henderson State University. Paul was inducted into the football Hall of Fame at Henderson. It was at Henderson State where he pledged to become a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. “HULK” - was his fraternity line name. On January 21, 1979, Paul sacredly pledged to love, honor and cherish his precious wife, Deloris Hicks in a permanent relationship for life. “Dee,” as he so affectionately called her was the love of his life and, appropriately, was the last word he uttered before he entered into his eternal resting place. God so blessed this union with three wonderful children. Paul's commitments to everyone and everything that concerned him were evident throughout his life. The most honorable commitment was to his wife and his family whom he adored and cherished. His second most was his commitment to his beloved fraternity where he served as the college advisor for more than 25 years. On July 13, 2013, his life's book was closed, his mission completed – Paul was called to rest. He leaves precious and fond memories to be cherished by a loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Deloris; one dedicated daughter, Charmaine Robinson of Texas; two wonderful sons, Paul Jr. and Andrew Robinson, of Arkansas; and one precious granddaughter, Jade Johnson of Texas; two loving sisters, Cynthia Robinson of Atlanta, Georgia and Lisa Robinson of Annapolis, MD; two aunts, Orastine Shackleford of Antioch, CA and Rosetta Register of Atlanta, GA; one uncle, Earnest Betts of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; one sister-in-law, Mary Hicks; three brothers-in-law; four nieces (Shika, Maria, Marcie, Meghan and Matthew); and a host of sorrowing relatives and friends. Paul will also be sorely missed by his beloved brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Public visitation will be held on Friday, July 19th from 12 noon - 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -7:00 p.m. at Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The final celebration and tribute to his life will be shared at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 20th at Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Johnny Harris will officiate. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Arkadelphia.
