Leon Lomax Lee

July 26, 1933 — January 16, 2015

Leon Lomax Lee was born in Arkadelphia on July 26, 1933, to the union of Oscar and Irma Alice Mobley. He was a 1952 graduate of Peake High School and later joined the United States Air Force. Leon made his home in Chicago where he worked as a police officer with the Cook County Police Department. He was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church and was active member of the community. Leon possessed a strong work ethic. His tall stature added to his authority and he was known as a no non-sense officer. He took his job seriously and served his city with pride. He retired after 31 years of dedicated and loyal service. He later moved back to Arkadelphia and re-kindled old friendships. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 2091 for 7 years. On Friday, January 16, 2015, at the blessed age of eighty-one he passed from this life at Courtyard Gardens. He will be missed and friendship will live on as a memory. At his request his remains were cremated and returned to his best friend and caregiver Mr. Charles Partlow of Chicago, IL.
