Milton McKinley Davis

Milton McKinley Davis, son of Johnnie H. and Zettie B. Elliot Davis, was born into time on April 20, 1955, in Sparkman, Arkansas. Milton united with St. James A.M.E. Church at a tender age and was baptized on September 20, 1964. He was a graduate of Sparkman High School and attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He was joined in matrimony to Joyce Nowden and to this union three children were born. On Thursday, November 27, 2008, during his 54th season, he was born into eternity. Those awaiting his arrival and to welcome him home are his parents, two sisters, Gloria Saville and Rose Anderson as well as a brother, Marlin Davis. Milton leaves to cherish his memories: three children, Contina Davis, Milton Davis, Jr., and Torrance Davis all of North Little Rock, Arkansas; three sisters, Evelyn Craig of Little Rock, AR, Angelia Craigg of Rockford, IL, and Ivory Mae Davis of Denison, TX; three brothers, Charles A. Davies & his wife, Mary of Arkadelphia, AR, Johnnie E. Davis & his wife, Janice of Inkster, MI, and Fate Davis & his wife, Lottie of Little Rock, AR; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and numerous friends. Mr. Davis will lie in state at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. A Tribute of Love and Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of St. James A.M.E. Church, where Rev. Thomas Brazil is pastor. Dr. Lewis A. Shepherd, Jr., pastor of Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Arkadelphia, will deliver the message of comfort. The Committal Service and final resting place will be at Sparkman Memorial Cemetery. The bearers of the casket will be Earnest Craig, Greg Harrison, Ruben Bevins, Edward Henley, Fredrick Murdock and Terry Craig. The honorary bearers of the casket will be Arthur Williamson, Brandon Simpkins, Stephon Giles, Keely Williamson, Rumeal Taylor and Jerry Parker, Jr.
