Steven Allen Green

March 11, 1974 — October 9, 2015

On March 11, 1974, Raymond and Laura Bell Green welcomed the birth of a son the named Steven Allen Green. “Rude Dog” or “Bones” - as he was known – was a tested, tried and true friend. Steven was raised in Gurdon, Arkansas and was a 1993 graduate of Gurdon High School. He had a fun-loving personality and loved to “clown around”. He was a member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church and worked with the sanitation department for the City of Gurdon for 8 years. He enjoyed fishing and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys football fan. Steven was a family oriented man, who found joy in being with his family. Although he never met a stranger people were just drawn to his friendly demeanor and his fun loving nature. He knew how to keep a person laughing. He kept it 100 and will be truly missed. On Friday, October 9, 2015, he transitioned from this life and lives again. His father, Raymond Green and his grandparents preceded him in death. Because love is far greater than death, his memory will live on with his daughter: Tierra Green of Arkadelphia, AR; his mother, Laura Bell Green of Gurdon, AR; seven sisters, Myra Henry (Dorsey) of Gurdon, AR, Lori Green (John Simmons) of Gurdon, AR, Aundra Leeper (Herman) of Curtis, AR, Cathy Green (Julius Golden) of Gurdon, AR, Stacy Green (David Charles) of Gurdon, AR, Carla Green (Kevin Gulley) of Gurdon, AR, Natasha Accor (Bernard Hatley) of Gurdon, AR; three brothers, Raymond (Mary) Green, Jr., of Arkadelphia, AR, Donnie Green of Gurdon, AR and L. J. Green of Gurdon, AR. He also leaves four aunts, Hazel Langford of Pine Bluff, AR, Cleaster (J. N.) Stephens of Gurdon, AR, Onedia Beaver of Gurdon, AR and Shirley Dickens of Gurdon, AR; uncles, Sherman Charles Dickens of Gurdon, AR, David Dickens of Gurdon, AR and Horrace Hubbard of Rockford, IL; nephews, nieces, other relatives, special friends Vonnie Brown, AR, Lewis Rogers, Lonnie Lacey all of Gurdon and numerous other friends. A Celebration of his life will be shared on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Harris, officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 2-7 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Interment will be in Sweet Home Cemetery in Prescott, Arkansas.
