Danny Ray began his life’s journey on September 15, 1956, in Little Rock, Arkansas the son of Mary Hearn and Frank Pipkin. He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and united with the Richmond Hill AME Church family. He attended school in Arkadelphia and was a 1974 graduate of Arkadelphia High School. Danny excelled as a student and grew up to be a charming and intelligent young man.
