Clayds Lambert

II Corinthians 4:18 The path of this life’s journey began with birth of Clayds Lambert on March 5, 1953, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He was the son of Joe and Mary Dixon Lambert. Nurtured in a Christian environment, Clayds gave his life to Christ at a tender age and became of member of Tate Temple Church of God In Christ. Clayds attended primary and secondary school in Arkadelphia and was a 1971 graduate of Arkadelphia High School, where he was a stellar athlete participating in both the football and basketball programs. Shortly after high school he enrolled at Henderson State University. He was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Society. He later attended and graduated from Ouachita Technical College in Malvern, Arkansas. On March 19, 2005, he married the love of his life Toma Jones and was blessed with another daughter, Tori Jones and also to this union one child was born. Clayds later joined Victory Temple Church of God In Christ under the pastorate of Elder Arthur Terry. He was a faithful member until his health would no longer permit. He was an employee of Union Pacific Railroad where he worked as an electrician. His coworkers will remember him as friendly, dependable and easy to work with. In his spare time he loved to ride his Harley Davidson. A strong, vibrant man, Clayds never backed down from a challenge. He lived life to the fullest and made every effort to use his God given talents in love and sacrifice for his wife, family, friends and neighbors. In the 56th season his life’s journey ended on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Arkadelphia with his wife and best-friend Donald Williams at his side. Those awaiting his arrival and to welcome him home are his mother and father, Joe and Mary Lambert; one brother Authur Lambert and his nephew Jerome Lambert. His sense of humor, and smile will be forever cherished by his wife, Toma Lambert,; his children, Clayds Lambert, Jr., Quintin Lambert, Shaquana Gibson-Lambert and Nazjay Lambert all of Arkadelphia, AR; three grandchildren; two sisters, Rosie Jenkins of Arkadelphia, AR, and Clarissa & her husband Reed Williams of Jacksonville, AR; two brothers, Joe Lambert, Jr., and Wallace Lambert both of Arkadelphia, AR. He also leaves aunts, uncles, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, numerous friends and the Victory Temple C.O.G.I.C family. You may visit Mr. Lambert on Friday April 3rd from 11:00 am until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will greet and receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of his life and final tributes will be shared at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009, in the sanctuary of Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where Dr. Lewis A. Shepherd, Jr., is the pastor. The Celebration message will be inspired by Elder Robert Davis, the pastor of Victory Temple Church of God In Christ. Elder Arthur Terry the pastor of New Jerusalem Church of God In Christ will be the officiant. The committal service & earthly resting place will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Bearers of the casket will be James Pepper, Harold Bailey, Carl Johnson, John Ware, Kenny Walker and Ben Stephens. Honorary bearers will be Joe Lambert, Jr., Wallace Lambert, Donald R. Williams, Reed Williams, Kerry Jones, and Barry Jones.
