Ezekiel Thomas Harrison, Jr.

On August 19, 1955, Ezekiel and Maelene Halton Harrison welcomed to their family a beautiful baby boy. They named him Ezekiel Thomas Harrison, Jr. He was affectionately called “Pokey” by his friends and family. During his early childhood, he gave his life to Christ and united with the First Baptist Church family under the leadership of Rev. G. C. Cook. Pokey loved working around the church. Pokey attended Sparkman Elementary and Sparkman High school. Living God’s word "I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness." Psalm 84:10. He served faithfully as a junior usher and later worked as an adult usher until his death. Pokey had a loving spirit, great sense of humor and never met a stranger. Trusting in God’s word “Be thou faithful until death and I will give thee a crown of life.” and in his 54th season, Pokey answered the call that no man can refuse. He was born into eternity on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock.
