Angela Darcel Utsey was born on September 21, 1958, in Camden, Arkansas, to Richard David Utsey Sr. and Warner Jean Utsey.
She graduated from Camden High School in 1976. Angela worked for Masterson for many years before joining the Camden Fairview School District, where she faithfully served for 35 years until her retirement in 2022.
Angela was a woman of deep faith who loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a devoted worshipper and a faithful churchgoer who kept her children rooted in church as they grew up, teaching them the values of faith, love, and perseverance. She was the glue that held her family together, always staying connected with relatives near and far and making sure everyone felt loved and cared for.
Angela lit up every room she entered. She was the life of the party, always laughing, smiling, and spreading joy. She loved people deeply and had a heart for helping anyone in need, never hesitating to open her doors or lend a hand.
Her family cherishes her beyond words. To them, she was more than a mother. She was their teacher, protector, and biggest cheerleader. Her legacy of faith, love, and compassion will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.
Angela passed from this life on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Angela leaves to cherish her memory her children: Monica Utsey, Delvecchio Bradford, and Ryan (Sha’Wakanee) Utsey Sr.; her brothers, Lawarence Nichols of Little Rock, Richard (Cynthia) Utsey Jr. and Darryl (Alice) Utsey all of Camden, Jeffery (Tressie) Utsey of Arkadelphia; her sister, Corliss Utsey of Camden; one aunt, Gwen Cummings from Camden; a special brother Kenneth Johnson and three special sisters Shirley Ward, Brenda Stith Anderson, and Sheila Hegler; twenty grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
