Bernadette Love

Bernadette Alexander Love was born August 4, 1966, to the late Henry “Bubba” Alexander, Jr., and the late Alice T.  Wroten Alexander in Camden, Arkansas.

She accepted Christ early in life and united with Good Home Baptist Church in Louann, Arkansas until God called her home. She graduated in 1985 from Fairview High School. She attended Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.

She worked at various nursing homes in Smackover, El Dorado, and Camden as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was well-loved by the residents and the staff; she took her work with great pride, and she treated the residents as her second family.

She departed this life on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Oak Ridge Nursing Home in El Dorado, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her mother, Alice L. Wroten Alexander; her father, Henry “Bubba” Alexander, Jr.; four brothers, Larry J. Alexander, Michael E. Alexander, Frederick L. Alexander, and Joseph G. Alexander; four aunts, Susie Elliott, Earnestine Alexander, Hazel Goodwin, and Marion Diana Williams; two uncles, Lawyer Wroten, Jr., and Kenneth Gaskin; her grandparents, Annie Lee Gaskin, Henry Alexander, Sr., and Pearley Alexander Cooper and step-grandfather, Johnnie Cooper.

Left to cherish her memory, are her husband, Otis Love of Smackover, AR; her daughter, Alyce Smith and grandson, Jalin D. Hicks both of El Dorado, AR; three brothers, Terry (Marion) Alexander of Texarkana, TX; Henry Lamar Alexander and Bernard Alexander both of Louann, AR; sister-in-law, Janice Halton Alexander of Smackover, AR; four nieces, five nephews, three great-nephews, two great-nieces, special friend, Sherly Jones. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of her Life and Legacy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Good Home Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Ray Hunter officiating. The interment will be at Jones Cemetery. Public Visitation will be Friday, April 28, 2023, from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home Van Buren. Maurice Gaskin, Jr., Andre Singleton, Ronnie G. Johnson, Columbus Halton, Fred McElroy and Diarra Morgan will serve as active pallbearers.
