C. W. Allen

June 7, 1944 — January 4, 2024

Arkadelphia, Arkansas

 ~ A Journey of Remembrance ~

C. W. “Tom” Allen, 79, left us on the morning of January 4, 2024. His fight has ended, and our hope is that his spirit has found peace, comfort, and rejoicing with loved ones in Heaven.

C. W. “Tom” Allen was born on June 7, 1944, in Vaden, Arkansas to F. C. and Ludi Mae Allen. His residence was at Nightingale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia, Arkansas until he transitioned to his forever home with the Lord. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized at the Church of God In Christ in Vaden, Arkansas.

C. W. grew up to be a fun, loving, gentle, and kind-spirited young man. He attended school in Gurdon and there he was affectionately know by most as “Tom.” He was a hardworking man, and often seen heling his father with many chores around the house. He assisted his father with the family lawn service business. When he was out there doing various jobs with his dad, he never met a stranger. He believed in treating others how you would want to be treated. “Do to others as you would have them do to you.”  Luke 6:31

He was not fortunate enough to marry or have children, but he was a very good son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was greatly loved by a large family of four sisters and three brothers. They would attend church where they worshiped together. He knew God was pleased when a family unit works together. He tried to instill the word of God by teaching his family about the power of God, and how to strive towards glorifying Him through their daily lives. He encouraged them to the world about God’s goodness.

C. W. believed that his purpose was to help those in need. He made strenuous efforts to support others and his family. He would do the things other people would not do and do it with a sense of joy and determination, because he loved making people happy. What he gained, helped benefit others. He had a interest in the well-being of his nieces and nephews. He shared some of his favorites like, a cold Pepsi or Mt. Dew, and hard candy. This stated a bond with his family that could not be broken. The family felt a great deal of security when around him because he had a genuine care for people. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”  II Timothy 4:7

He was preceded in death by his parents, F. C. and Ludi Mae Allen; sister, Attie Mae Allen, niece and great-nephew. His smile, hearty laugh and warm embrace will be missed, but never forgotten. Because love is stronger than death, his memories will last forever in the hearts of his three sisters, Erma McElroy, Joyce Hayward, Judey Anderson all of Arkadelphia, AR; his three brothers, J. W. Walker of Dos Palos, CA; Hulon Allen, Roy (Barbara) Allen both of Arkadelphia, AR. He also leaves an innumerable number of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and acquaintances. “Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.”  Matthew 5:4
