Carl Houston Vaughn

October 16, 1937 — June 14, 2020

Carl Houston Vaughn was born on October 16, 1937 in Centerpoint, Arkansas to the union of Albert and Tilla Jones Vaughn. He was a graduate of Childress Training School in Nashville, Arkansas and was a member of Centerpoint Church of Christ.

He married Rachel Post on April 1, 1977 and they share 43 year together. Carl was a quiet, yet friendly man who enjoyed the simple things that life offered.  

He worked various jobs including Tyson Foods and Petit Jean Poultry. He enjoyed making barbeque pits, hunting and fishing. He was a die-hard Lakers basketball team fan.

He passed on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Matthew Vaughn, Austin Vaughn, EJ Vaughn, Roland Vaughn, George Vaughn, Joe Vaughn and Henry Vaughn; his sisters, Lille Walker, Ellie McFadden, Clariee Whitmore and Fay Moore.

Carl leaves his loving wife, Rachel Post Vaughn of Hope, AR; three daughters, Margaret (Freddie) Dixon of Mineral Springs, AR, Angela Vaughn of McKinney, TX and Helen A. Thompson of Little Rock, R; one sister Christine Tuner of Tollette, AR; a special sister-in-law, Mary Post Flowers (Curtis) of Hope, AR and Cellestean Post Phillips of Hope, AR; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Post of Hope, AR and Ray Anthony Post of Los Angeles CA; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a special niece, Vickie Turner and a special nephew, Bennie Floyd. He also leaves several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020 Elizabeth Cemetery in Prescott, Arkansas under the direction of Williams Funeral Home.
