Eddie William Bullard was born into this life on August 15, 1955 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the union of Eddie W. Bullard and Laura E. Hinkle-Bullard.
His father Professor Eddie W. Bullard was an educator at AM&N College, now the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. His father passed in a boating accident just before Eddie was born. His mother Laura and older brother, Allan later moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Eddie was a quiet and well-mannered young man. He accepted Christ at a tender age and attended Ottawa Hills High School in Grand Rapids. Early in his life he developed an interest in electronics. He mastered his craft and worked for both ICON and RICO the two leading electronic companies in Grand Rapids at that time.
His mind stayed busy problem-solving and he always found a way to resolve technical issues. He was born into two families that advanced in business, carpentry and construction. His maternal grandfather, Mr. Hinkle was one of the few African-Americans; if not the only in Arkadelphia to own a cement company. His paternal grandfather, Mr. Bullard was a contractor who built several homes throughout Pine Bluff as well as the operator of Bullard Brothers Cleaners on University Drive. Eddie inherited every skill and talent. He was a gifted carpenter who could design and build anything.
After the passing of his mother in 1987 and later the retirement of his brother, Eddie and Allan moved back to Pine Bluff. Together they started to rehab the family home on University Drive that was built by his father and grandfather. Eddie enjoyed the south and always looked forward to visiting Arkadelphia. Eddie was a deep thought thinker and valued deep discussions about politics and life. Reading and listening to jazz were a few of his prized pastimes.
