Texarkana

Eric Vernard Moss, Jr., known to family and friends as “Pooh Man”, came into the world on June 29, 1998, and those touched by his life would never be the same. His parents LaPanda and Eric knew right away that Eric would one day make a forever-lasting impression in this world. As a baby he was active and exploratory; he warmed up easily to anyone and possessed an infectious giggle and smile that would melt any heart.

As a little boy, he was baptized and united with Munns Chapel Baptist Church. He was an exemplary student at Texas High School where he graduated in 2016. He was very outgoing and made friends with all races. Eric knew the value and worth of being a true friend.

Eric was ambitious and found that education was the key to his future. He enrolled in Texarkana College and earned an associate degree in construction management. He landed his first job at Rogers Construction as a blueprint designer for four years. Eric was full of life and his ambition moved him to Lubbock, Texas. He worked Hard Rock Drilling in Monahans, Texas.

When not working Eric enjoyed, working on cars, fishing, golfing, and trucking. He started the Southern Exclusive Truck Club. He loved the water and swimming. He was a true outdoorsman and had plans to buy his first boat. Eric has a vast collection of belt buckles and he wore them with pride.

Eric slipped away from this life on Saturday, November 25, 2023, in Texarkana, Texas. Although his absence leaves a void, his memory will live on. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Bobby Joe Fricks and Charles Moss, and his great-grandparents, Geneva and Carson Haynie and Orene and Willie Flemons.

His love, smile, and laughter will forever live in the hearts of his parents, Eric Moss, Sr., and LaPanda (Demarqus) White; two sisters, Takerrea Moss of Texarkana, AR, and Monteunah Glasgow of Dallas, TX; his grandparents, Genelle (Fredrick) McClannahan of Prescott, AR, Emma Moss of Camden, AR, Calvin Flemons of Prescott, AR, Debra White of Texarkana, TX and Kenneth (Sonya) Hawkins of Texarkana, TX. He also leaves an innumerable number of aunts and uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Transformation Center International Kingdom Embassy, 1111 Hazel Street, Texarkana, Texas 75501 with Rev. Joseph Tyree, eulogist and Rev. Cedric Sharp, officiant. The interment will be at DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott, Arkansas.
