Evelyn Craig

Evelyn Davis Craig was the second child of ten children born to the union of Johnnie and Zettie B. Elliott Davis. Family played a key role in the development and shaping of her life. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior as a little girl uniting with St. James AME Church where she was a member of the choir. She was a 1962 graduate of the Sparkman Training School. She excelled as a student and always was serious about obtaining her education.

Evelyn moved to Little Rock and united with the Moody Chapel AME Church family. In July 2017, she moved to Good Shepherd and won the hearts of both the nursing staff and residents. Her favorite color was red and she always looked forward to visits from her family.

Evelyn was a gifted and talented seamstress having worked at Dillard’s Department Store for 30 years and the Stitching Post for 10 years. Her proficient and timely work was often favored and sought after.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria Saville and Rose Anderson as well as a brothers, Marlin Davis and Milton Davis.
A lifetime of love and memories will be felt by her daughter, Genenail Parker and husband Jerry Parker, Sr., of Little Rock, AR; her beloved grandsons, Jerry, Jr. (Dominique) Parker and Jeremy Parker; two great-grandchildren, Josiah Parker and Jeremiah Parker all of Little Rock, AR; two sisters, Angela Craigg of Rockford, IL and Ivory M. Davis of Denton, TX; three brothers, Charles (Mary) Davies of Arkadelphia, AR, Johnnie (Janice) Davis of Inkster, MI and Fay (Lottie) Davis of Little Rock, AR; an aunt, Willie B. Anderson of Sacramento, CA and an uncle, George Davis of Fort Port Lucie, FL. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and other relatives.

A celebration of her life will be shared at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Moody Chapel AME Church, 5630 Mabelvale Pike, Little Rock. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Interment will be at Sparkman Community Cemetery.
