Frederick Charles Young

October 10, 1971 — December 12, 2021

Frederick Charles Young entered this world on October 10, 1971. He was a 6 pound and 8 oz baby boy gifted from God to Alfonzo Charles Young and Murdella Purifoy Young.

At two years old his baby picture was chosen to be placed on the front page of a magazine. Frederick was baptized at an early age and united with the Springhill Baptist Church in Whelen Springs, AR. He grew up on Gurdon and was a 1990 graduate of Gurdon High School where he played basketball, football and ran track.

Fred was very independent and at the age of sixteen, he started working his first job at White Oka Lake State Park and later Tyson foods. On August 5, 1996, he started a 20 plus year career working at Firestone until 2020. Fred was a team player and made friends wherever he went. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing with his friends and watching the news. He would spend hours watching episodes of Judge Judy and Judge Mathis.

He was an avid, die-hard Dallas Cowboys Football fan. He never missed an opportunity to educate his family and friends about the team he loved so dearly and the athletes who played it brilliantly. On game day he was glued to the TV, never missing a single play.

On Sunday, December 12, 2021, in his 50th season of life he mounted up his wings at 6:32 p.m. and he left this Earth.

Those awaiting his arrival are his brother, DeWillis Young, and his sister, LaShonda Young.

Frederick leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Tyler Kieo’sha Robinson of Arkadelphia, AR; his father and stepmother, Alfonzo Charles (Delia) Young of Prescott, AR; his mother, Murdella Purifoy of Prescott, AR; his fiancé, Barbara Evans of Prescott, AR; two brothers, Brandon M. Young of Hope, AR and Kendall Charles Young of Dallas, TX; three sisters, Angela Allen of Ashdown, AR; Sheria T. (Charles) Jackson of Prescott, AR, and Kendra D. Young of Dallas, TX; De’Vonna Tillman (Colby) Tillman, De’Vonte’ Fricks, and Ivan Young all who he loved as his children; his step-sister, Monica L. Stuart, and step-brother, Antonio Flemons. He leaves six grandchildren who called him “Papa Fred”, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, his special friends, Ronald Box and Charles Jackson, and numerous other friends.
