Gladys Iola Green

Gladys Iola Murchison Green was born April 8, 1935, in Mountain Pine Arkansas to Deaver Murchison and Cassie Middleton. Gladys lived in Bearden, Arkansas the majority of her life.

In the mid 70’s she moved to Lansing, Michigan after retiring from being a home child care provider. There she enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and taking mini-vacation trips.

Gladys passed from this life on Friday, May 7, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Anderson Green; father, Deaver Murchison; mother, Cassie Middleton, and a grandson, Roderick Desaun Green.

The memory of her existence will forever be woven into the lives of those who were blessed to know her. She leaves her son, Robert Lee Green (Sallie) Arlington, TX; daughter, Sadette Green, and granddaughter, Manesha P. Green of Arlington, TX; a brother, Richard Murchison (Helen) of Lansing, MI; close friends, Lavella Caston and the entire family, Dorshia Marshall, Dorothy Juniel, Naomi Buckley, and Jean Guyton. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Service will be held graveside at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Moss Cemetery in Bearden, Arkansas with Moderator Vernon Thompson, the eulogist.

Pallbearers will be Tecola Goodwin, Nickolas Starks, Timothy Starks, Jefferson Preston, James Johnson, and Nichols Starks. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Starks, Carlos Coleman, Trefener Rideout, Von Juniel, and Prince Starks.
