Hosie James Hale was born on January 10, 1937, in Okolona, Arkansas to Clyde “Bud” Wiley and Sally Maud Hale. Hosie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Okolona, where he also served as a deacon.
Hosie was a proud graduate of the historical Simmons High School in Okolona. Hosie met the love of his life, Alice Ruth Brown, and they were married on Christmas Day in 1959. To this union they were blessed with four children.
Hosie was drafted in the Vietnam War in 1962, where he served in the United States Army. On his return he gained employment at Reynolds Metal Company. After working 23 years, Hosie retired from Reynolds in 1988. After departing Reynolds, Hosie started work at Anthony Timberlands. He was a board feeder at the dry mill for many years and retired from his duties in 2014.
Hosie lived a modest life full of love and laughter with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Every chance he got, he would hope in the car and just go for long drives, especially to his favorite place, Texarkana. He definitely loved to travel with his family. While at home, Hosie enjoyed watching the nightly news and reading his Sunday paper. He also had a love of checking out all of the new rides at the lot of the local dealership.
On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Hosie transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde “Bud” Wiley and Sally Maud Hale, his son, Garland Hale, and his wife, Alice Ruth Brown-Hale who passed on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
