Jacqueline Cleon McClure Goshen made her grand entrance into this world on Christmas Day in 1966. She was born the union of Leo, Jr., and Mattie Lee Hill McClure in Lansing, Michigan. Her parents knew right away that world would never be the same with “Jackie”.
She accepted Christ at a tender age and was a member of Mt. Friendship Baptist Church. She was a loving girl who grew up to be a beautiful young lady and was a 1985 graduate of Arkadelphia High School. She was outgoing and warm. She loved beauty pageants and won the Sunshine Pageant.
Jackie worked for the Children’s Colony, now Arkadelphia Human Development Center for over 35 years. She made friends easily and connected with others well.
Jackie had a passion for gardening and mastered weed eating. She had a knack for interior decorating. She combined her two favorite hobbies to build and maintain a lovely home for her family. She enjoyed fishing and listening to the blues. She was known for her bold humor, her infectious laughter and her happy-go lucky nature. “She was the life of the party.” Even with her illness, Jackie decided to be joyful about having had a full life. She surrounded herself with bonds of forgiveness, laughter and many smiles.
On Sunday, May 31, 2020, Jackie went home to be with the Lord. Her solemn goodbye is a constant reminder that life is uncertain and the death is sure. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will last a lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leo McClure, Jr., her sister, Lennetta McClure; and her grandparents.
Those who remain to reflect on her life are her husband; Claudis Goshen of Curtis; her mother, Mattie Lee McClure of Curtis; her children, Emmanuel L. McClure of Fayetteville, AR, Kaylona Goshen (Justin) of Arkadelphia, Kayla Goshen and Kyla Goshen both of Curtis; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mattie (Jimmy) Logan of Hot Springs, Janie Owens of Orlando, FL, Pam (Timothy) Means of Curtis, Leotis (Pam) McClure of Curtis and Kenny McClure of Curtis; special friends, Stella M. Smith and Veronica Moore. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
