James Kenneth King

March 15, 1966 — March 22, 2018

James Kenneth King was born into this life on March 15, 1966 in Hope, Arkansas to the union of John, Jr. and Earlene Burch King. He accepted Christ and was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Sparkman, Arkansas.

He was a 1984 graduate of Sparkman Training School. He excelled as an athlete, playing both basketball and football. He later attended Henderson State University. James was a “jack of all trades” and an outdoorsman. He lived a simple life and always had a word of encouragement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a dedicated employee of Whitaker Logging.

James was a family man. His greatest accomplishment in life was the birth of his two daughters, LaJassity and Bianca.
Family, as well as friends, will miss his strength, smile and love, but will never forget his sense of humor. He passed into the Lord’s embrace Thursday, March 22, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father, John King, Jr., who made his transition on January 18, 2002 and two brothers, John W. King (August 26, 1978) and William E. King (September 22, 2017).

He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughters, LaJassity Lambert of Bearden, AR and Bianca Simpson of Little Rock, AR; two grandchildren, Ashanti Lambert of Bearden, AR and Zoey Woods of Little Rock, AR: his mother, Earlene King of Sparkman; six sisters, Beatrice (Marvin) Evans of Kansas City, MO, Verdia Marie Kirkwood of Buffalo, NY, Gloria (Gayle, Jr.) Jones of Arkadelphia, AR, Linda (Sherman) Butler of Sparkman, AR, Cynthia Harris of Kansas City, MO, and Lahomia King of Arkadelphia, AR; two brothers, Bobby King of Kansas City, MO, and Christopher King of Sparkman, AR. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.
