Johnnie Edward Johnson was born on Monday, January 25, 1960, in Prescott, Arkansas to Ella Mae Gulley Brown and Johnnie Johnson. He was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church in the “Upchurch Community.”

 

Johnnie attended Prescott High School where he was a member of the track team. Johnnie was an industrious worker. He was a laborer at the steel mill in Hope, Arkansas. He was a simple man, who enjoyed the simple pleasures that life offered. He loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed every moment of laughing, sharing stories, and creating precious memories with them.

 

He passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at his home in Prescott, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Johnson.

 

Johnnie’s memory will live forever in the hearts of his two children, Johnnie Johnson, and Sherrel Johnson; mother, Ella M. Brown of Little Rock, AR; five siblings, Gregory (Carmel) Johnson of Herculaneum, MO, Chargloria (Charles) Lawson, Charlene Woodard, Charles Shelton, Henry Shelton all Little Rock, AR; uncle, Lonnie (Maxine) Gulley of Seattle, WA; aunt, Addie Pearl Penny of St. Louis, MO; special friend, Kristi Fields; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the funeral home. A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Union Grove Cemetery in Bluff City with Pastor Spencer Hughes, eulogist. Please bring your chairs and umbrella for comfort and shade.
