Kay Works

On December 14th, 1955, Kay Works begun her life journey in the small community of Hickory Grove on the outskirts of Nashville, AR. Kay was the eldest daughter to the late Geraldine Works of Tulsa, OK. She was raised with nine other siblings by her late grandparents Floyd and Jordie Works of Nashville, AR. She graduated from Nashville High School and attended college at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, AR.

She is survived by her three children: Jordie (Samuel) Marlow of Sherwood, AR., Hollis (Sidney) Mullins Jr. of Nashville, AR., and Te’Kayla S. Works of Alexander, AR. Four grandchildren: Darian Marlow (deceased), Whittneay Mullins, Hollis L. Mullins lll, and Olivia Mullins. In addition, one great grandchild Jace Marlow. She is also survived by her brother, Ralph Bee of Rockwall, TX., Sister Debra Ann Doss of Phoenix, AZ., Aunt Mary Nica Bournes of Monrouia, CA., & Claudine Works-Wright of SanPablo, CA., and countless other family members.

Kay found her passion for life by being a mother not only to her children, but to the community. She was known widely for her warmth, wisdom, and kind words. She was an avid reader of the bible; moreover, she enjoyed singing, sewing, cooking, and worship. She volunteered in her community with endless acts of service. Her cooking not only touched a person’s stomach, but it touch their soul and her warm spirit never allowed an individual to feel alone.

Kay joined her mother, father, sister, aunts, and uncles in glory on October 10, 2021 at the age of 65. However, she will be remembered by many, and remain in our hearts as the days continue.

Public visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Williams Funeral Home, 1517 Caddo Street, Arkadelphia. Services will be held  at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at First Church of God Tollette, 946 Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr., Mineral Springs, Arkansas with Bro. Christopher Fifer, officiating. Interment will be Crofton Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Julian Haney, Jason Stewart, Steve Draper, Gary Davis, Princeton Davis, JaMel Griffin, Chris Gooden, Carlos Martinez, Howard K. Green III and Josh Porter.                               

Family and friends please note that mask are required upon entry of the sanctuary.
