Kimberly Danielle Hunter

October 23, 1982 — November 20, 2022

Our world is much richer because we were blessed to have Kimberly Danielle Hunter in our lives. She began her earthly sojourn through life on October 23, 1982, in Prescott, Arkansas. She was the youngest child born to David Lee and Rose Mitchell Hunter.

Kim slept into the Lord’s embrace on Sunday, November 20, 2022. She lived 40 beautiful years.

At an early age, she made a personal decision to accept Christ as her Savior. She often attended St. Paul AME Church. She was a 2002 graduate of Gurdon High School where she played the drums in the band and was a member of the Pep Squad. By every account, Kim was brave and bold. She made friends naturally and with ease. She always gave compliments and gave credit where credit was due.

Kim was the proud mother of De’Jon and Davion. She raised her sons as a single mother but was able to provide for them well beyond the necessities of life, exceeding the equivalent of a two-parent home. She was a loving and protective mother. Kim made deliberate decisions to attend award ceremonies, football, and basketball games, or events that included her boys.

Those who crossed her path remember her as invariably cheerful, patient, and sweet. She worked as a daycare worker and developed an even deeper love for children. She was the go-to babysitter; whether it was planned or last minute, Kim was dependable.

Kim’s sudden departure reminds all that life is uncertain, but death is sure. She was preceded in death by her father, David Lee Hunter and grandparents.

The sweetness of Kim will live on in the hearts of her boys, De’Jon Ali Nolen and Davion Lee Hunter of Arkadelphia, AR; her mother, Rose (Clemon) Gentry of Arkadelphia; Carl F. Ussery with whom she shared her life; her siblings, Valerie Armstrong of Magnolia, AR and Clifton (Natasha) Hunter of Bryant, AR; her nieces and nephews, Kayla Hunter, Tyler Hunter, Aleena Hunter, and CJ Hunter, Jr.; her bonus baby, Charnaley (Cjay) Marshall, Jr. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends, T’Nesha Burton, Sonia Beasley, Ingrid Williams, Brandy Pickens, Ronika Horton, Niecy Knox, LaVonda Young, Katrina Simpson, Kedia Dobbs, as well as, a wealth of friends and acquaintances.

Visitation will be Monday, November 28, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, with Rev. James H. Giles, Sr., eulogist. The interment will be at Shady Grove Cemetery in Beirne, Arkansas.

Active pallbearers will be O’ Brien Moss, Jason Davis, Cameron Dickerson, Torey Dixon, Kellvin McPeak, Christopher Williams and the Gurdon High School Class of 2002. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Hunter, Clifton Hunter, Tyler Hunter, Christopher Mitchell, and John Watson. Floral escorts will be the GHS Class of 2002.

Friends and family are asked to wear shades of purple in her memory.
