Larry Bailey was born September 6, 1949 to the late Robert and Annie L. Sanders of Arkadelphia, AR. He was the eldest of six children. Larry transitioned from this life at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, Hospice Unit in Baltimore, MD. Larry will forever be remembered for his warm and generous heart and his deep love for his family and friends. He touched many lives and the legacy he leaves behind reflects a life filled with purpose and compassion.
Larry was a proud graduated of Peake High School, Class of 1967. After graduation he briefly attended Henderson State University before moving to Baltimore. Larry learned the value of hard work and saving money at an early age. After a couple of jobs in Arkadelphia, he took a job selling bibles door to door in Baltimore which is where he met the love of his life Rosemary White. After settling in Baltimore, Larry later gained employment with the City of Baltimore as a City inspector. He retired in 2018 after 20 years of employment.
While in Baltimore, Larry remained active in the Arkadelphia community. He was a life member of the Peake Alumni Association and the Richmond Hill Cemetery Preservation Association. In Baltimore, he was a proud member of the Neighborhood Community Association.
Larry loved home (Arkadelphia). He visited as often as he could until his health failed. He enjoyed attending church, fishing, writing poetry and attending the Peake Class reunions. In his early years he was a member of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Arkadelphia. He later joined First Apostolic Faith Gospel Tabernacle-Turner Station.
God called Larry to his heavenly home on January 6, 2026. He was welcomed home by his beloved wife Rosemary (2024) his parents, grandparents and his brother Robert (2011)
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons: Andre Bailey (Tawanda) of Frederick, Maryland, Phillip Bailey of Baltimore, Maryland; his three grandchildren; Tiheisha (Alejandro), Steven, and Ashi, six great grandchildren; Isaiah, Nevaeh, Michael, Alejandro, II (AJ) Armello and Kamryn (KJ).
He also leaves two sisters, Angela Middleton (Frederick) and Lillian Ball; brothers, John Sanders (Annette), Mark Sanders (Tammy) all of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; three sisters-in-law; Dolores and Shawna and Pinella Sanders of Little Rock; four brothers-in-law, all of Baltimore, MD. along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
