Larry Eugene Hunter, smooth in spirit, sharp in style, and unforgettable in presence unexpectedly passed away Thursday December 11, 2025.
Larry embodied an overwhelming passion for his family, love of music, cooking and playing spades. He always occupied a place of laughter, fashion, love for his jewelry, and smiling with love. Larry never arrived without being dressed to the nines. From his shoes to the wristwatch, he never missed a beat.
Born the youngest of 5 children, he was the only son of the late Rosie Mae Wright Murdock and the only child born to the late Pinilos “Skint” Hunter in Sparkman, Arkansas on March 28, 1958.
He gave his life to Christ at an early age under the leadership of late Pastor Cooks at First Baptist Church, Sparkman, Arkansas where he was a very active youth member.
Larry attended Sparkman High School. His professional journey begin with the US Army in 1979-1982. During his service, Larry earned the following badges: Expert Badge with M-16 Rifle Bar, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Expert Badge with Hand and Grenade Bar and Expert Infantryman Badge.
After his military service, Larry returned home to Sparkman and worked at both sawmills Brazeale Lumber Co and Ray White Lumber in Sparkman, Arkansas for a long period of time. In his latter years, he worked for VA Hospital in Fayetteville and The City of Little Rock.
He was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents, his daughter Tamara Daniel, one grandson Darius Lockett, maternal grandparents Joseph & Alabama Wright, paternal grandparents James Hunter & Elva Butler, and his sisters Yvonne Gracie Taylor and Marcella Murdock.
Survivors include his daughter Markeata Webb, his grandchildren D’Corian Locket, Daniya & D’Kingston Long, his sisters Brenda Taylor Williams and Zondra (Freddie) Hall, and his aunt Delores Walker. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday December 20, 2025 at Williams Funeral Home in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Rev. L. A. Craig, officiating.
