Leartis Dansby was born into the life on November 22, 1948 in Rosston, Arkansas to the union of Jacob and Mazie Marks Dansby.
He worked as a truck driver with the Arkansas State Highway Department for 27 years. He enjoyed a simple life watching westerns and spending time with family.
He passed into the Lord’s embrace on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Heather Manor Nursing Home in Hope, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Mazie Marks; brothers, James Dansby, Joe Dansby, and Leon Dansby; sisters, Vera Wilkins, Ranae Dansby and Mary L. Williams.
He is survived by his nieces and caregiver, Melissa C. (Quinton)Flowers of Marion, AR; sisters, Ruth Ella Charles of Prescott, AR, and Lou Ella Hardamon of Prescott, AR. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for Mr. Dansby will be Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Bishop, pastor and Rev. Curtis O. Dansby, eulogist. Interment will be at White Church Cemetery in Rosston, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Darrel Hardamon, Quinton Flowers, Marcus Craven, Lonnie Ray Lacy, Jr., Willie Marks, Jr., and Derrick Marks. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Latin, Jimmy Gulley, Lindsey Craven, S J Scott and Randolph Gulley.
