Leon Julius Delamar, Jr.

June 27, 1966 — November 15, 2022

Leon Julius Delamar, Jr., was born on June 27, 1966, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the union of Geneva Knox Delamar and Leon J. Delamar, Sr. He was a loving, honest, kind, and caring young man who never met a stranger. He confessed his faith in Christ at a young age and was a member of Pleasant Hill AME Church in Joan, Arkansas.

Leon was a 1984 graduate of Arkadelphia High School in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He was a hard worker and provider for his family. He was a dedicated employee of Scroll Technology having worked there for over 20 years as a Tech 4 Supervisor. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and listening to old-school R&B, cheering on the Chicago Cubs, and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan! He spent a lot of time with friends and family.
He passed from this life on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock. Leon was preceded in death by his father, Leon J. Delamar, Sr., and an infant baby brother.

Because love is far greater than death, his love will continue to live in the hearts of his family; longtime companion, Lillian Ball of Arkadelphia, AR; bonus children, Sabrina White of Arkadelphia, AR, Yulian McCartney of Little Rock, AR, Ronald McCartney of Port Arthur, TX; his mother, Geneva King of Arkadelphia, AR; three sisters, Cecelia Clegg of Hot Springs, AR, Tanya Delamar of Texarkana, TX, Kimberly King of Arkadelphia, AR; bonus brothers, John Sanders and Mark Sanders; aunts, Lois McClanahan (Henry) of San Jose, CA, Zelma Knox of Arkadelphia, AR, Flora Thompson of North Little Rock, AR, Kathleen Knox of Dallas, TX, and Martha Newborn (Lester) of Malvern, AR, and an uncle, Peter Delamar of Oakland, CA. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

Visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Gennesaret Missionary Baptist Church with Minister Avery Thompson, Eulogist. The interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
