Levoyce "Mint" Haygood was born on March 28, 1950, in Camden, Arkansas, to the late V.C. Haygood and Gertie Mae Davis Haygood. She was a life-long member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving mother to her children, Michael and Kiffney, whom she loved deeply. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her own family; she was affectionately known as the family and community babysitter who cared for everyone’s children as if they were her own. Her home and her heart were always open, and her love left lasting marks on generations of families.
Levoyce was a hard worker and a woman of great compassion. She found joy in the simple things, cooking delicious meals, sharing laughter with loved ones, and spending quiet evenings watching her favorite westerns, especially Gunsmoke. Her vibrant personality and boundless energy shone through every part of her life, especially when she was cheering from the sidelines at Peewee football or basketball games.
Her love, kindness, and humor touched all who knew her. Levoyce had a way of making everyone feel special—her laughter could brighten any room, and her presence brought warmth wherever she went.
She was preceded in death by her parents, V.C. and Gertie Haygood; her beloved son, Lee Anthony Haygood; her sister, Debra Haygood (September 8, 1957 — October 8, 2023) and her brother, Archie "Blue" Haygood (March 7, 1943 — June 29, 2024); and nephews, Andre Haygood, Tony Robinson and Gregory Robinson.
Levoyce leaves to cherish her memory her children, Michael Haygood and Kiffney Haygood both of Camden; her grandchildren, Shaquealakia Haygood of Arkadelphia and Mikeya Haygood of Camden; her great-grandchildren, Karrington Norful, K’Arieia Gentry, Kariyah Gentry, Elaya Haygood and Kasen Pigg; her siblings, Gloria (Glen) Robinson, Barbara Haygood and Charles Haygood all of Camden; a sister-in-law, Paula Haygood; her special children Luca Hunter, Zachariah Utsey, Avah Utsey and Malania Askew. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, Carolyn Graham, Ollie Ford, Jackie Dunn and Anitha Armstrong, and countless other friends who will miss her deeply but will forever remember her joyful spirit and generous heart.
Visitation will be from noon until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Williams Funeral Home Van Buren, 119 Van Buren Street. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church.
