Mary Frances Helms was born on May 20, 1944 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the union of Benjamin and Jewel Hill Williams. She accepted Christ at a young age and united with St. Paul AME Church.
Mary was an independent woman and mother. She worked for years as a cashier/clerk for Saveway in Arkadelphia.
Throughout her life she maintained ties to her family, loved ones and enthusiastically arts and crafts. She enjoyed the simple pleasures that life offered her while living a full and wholesome life.
Above all, she will be remembered for having a gentle spirit and sweet soul. Family, as well as friends, will miss her strength, smile and love, but will never forget her spirit and compassion. She passed into the Lord’s embrace Friday, January 1, 2021 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
She leaves her beloved daughters: Sandra Moore of Bryant, AR and June (Derrick) Stephens of Benton, AR; one sister, Rose Mary Williams of Arkadelphia, AR; her grandchildren, O’Tiffany Williams Haynie, Jerran D. M. Willis, Tyler Moore, Jalon Williams and Jacobi Smith Richardson, Andrea Helms, Mario Helms and Malik Bell; her great-grandchildren; Jerran D. M. Willis, Jr., Dakota Cree Haynie, King Bell, Isaiah Cowan, London Cowan, Dallas Cowan, Perry Cowan, Paris Cowan, Kaiden Helms, Paityn Helms and Asai’h Bell. She also leaves a special friend Wilma Gill of Arkadelphia, as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Community Family Enrichment Center with Apostle Derrick Stephens, officiating.
