Mashunda Latoya Hill sweetly known as “Shunda” came into the world on November 25, 1985 and those who were touched by her life would never be the same. Her parents Zella Berry and Michael Hill knew right away that Shunda would one day make a forever lasting impression in this world. As a baby she was active and exploratory; she warmed up easily to anyone and possessed an infectious giggle and smile that would melt any heart.
She attended Mt. Hebron Baptist Church from time to time and was an exemplary student at Camden Fairview High School where she graduated in 2001. She was very outgoing and made friends with all races. Shunda knew the value and worth of being a true friend. She loved being in the company of family and friends; and was often the center of attention.
Shunda was always independent and a “go-getter”. Her very first job at the age of 14 was working at Sonic. She was known throughout Camden having worked several jobs including, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Sav-A-Lot, the Ouachita County Medical Center and lastly Areojet.
She was blessed to be the mother of Lamarion and De’coria whom she loved immensely. He boys were her life and she loved being their mother. She took that role seriously and wanted to make sure that they received all of the love and affection they deserved. She was very active in all of their school events, whether it was an award ceremony or a sporting event.
If ever a title existed “Selfie Queen” she was. Shunda loved to Facebook and posting “selfies”, she also used it to keep up with family and friends, send an encouraging message or post of the boys playing football. She loved all genres of music with her favorite artist being Kevin Gates. She enjoyed cooking and was known to be u late at 2 am or 3 am in the morning cooking.
Shunda never really let her condition get her down. She was known to be a tough and a fighter. Many family and friends rallied behind her as she battled for a full and complete recovery. However, it was her faith and trust in the Lord that carried her through until the end. Her death has been swallowed up in Victory. Her life has just begun.
She greeted life and its circumstances with a style and grace all her own. In the last season of her life on Thursday, September 24, 2020, Shunda was blessed to share her transition with some of her family members and close friends.
Those left to cherish in her memory are: handsome and loving sons, Lamarion Clemons and De’coria Clemons both of Camden; her parents, Zella (Terry) Berry Stockdale of Camden, Michael (Lisa) Hill of Milwaukee, WI; her bonus father, Willie Stockdale of Camden; her sisters, Donna (Jason) Lindsey of Camden, Tebecca (Jerell) Gordon of Las Vegas, NV and Shranitra (Antonio) Tubbs of Camden; two brothers, Michael Monk of North Carolina and Marcus Hill of Camden; special friends, Rhonda Anderson, Marnika Reedy and Talonda Henderson.
