In Loving Memory of Myrpleane Smith

Myrpleane Smith of Arkadelphia Arkansas passed away on Thursday, December 4th at Blossome Nursing Home in Little Rock, AR. Myrpleane was born to Alford and Purdie (Ingram) Purifoy on October 28, 1952. She later married James Smith and to that union two children were born: Patrick Smith and Corey Smith. Myrpleane is survived by her children, Patrick and Corey Smith, her grandchildren, Janiah and King Smith, her siblings: Willie Faye (George Box), Tonnie (Elliehue) Rutherford, Rebecca Anderson, and sister- in-law Martha Purifoy, all of Peoria, IL and Joe Willie Purifoy of Arkadelphia, AR and Ethel Mae (Russell) Ledbetter and Glenda R. Stafford, both of Little Rock, AR, brothers in love, T.O. Jackson and Micah Stafford Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Alford and Purdie Purifoy and brother Billy Purifoy Sr.

Myrpleane attended McRae High School in Prescott, AR. Myrpleane retired from Firestone after many years of service. Myrpleane was a loving and caring person who loved the Lord. At an early age she accepted Christ as her Savior. She was baptized at her family's church, St. John's Missionary Baptist Church, in Bluff City, AR. Myrpleane loved her family dearly, especially her children and grandchildren Janiah Smith and King Smith. She would often share special stories with her siblings about special events, the funny things or milestones that her grandchildren reached Myrpleane loved all her family, and she was only one call away if you needed help, advice, just to talk, she was always available. No one could make you laugh like Myrp. She always had something funny to say. She will always be remembered as a beautiful, kind, sweet, comical, caring person who always gave love.
