Ozella Piggee Snowden

Ozella Piggee Snowden was born on June 21, 1945 in Okolona, Arkansas to Thurman Piggee and Parthena Heard Piggee. She accepted Christ at a tender age and attended Richmond Hill School and Peake High School in Arkadelphia.   

Ozella was a homemaker and loved being in the company of her family and friends. She never met a stranger and always offered words of encouragement and was often sought for wisdom.  She loved to shop and take pictures. Ozella was the family picture collector and made sure that everyone had their picture taken.

She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church was she was active with the choir. In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to gospel music and the blues.

Ozella was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel David Snowden; siblings, Wilbert Piggee, George Piggee, Thurman Piggee, Jr., Edna Booker, Ella Mae Beavers, Odell Piggee and David Piggee.

She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Samuel D. Snowden of Delight, AR, Jacqueloyn (Gregory) McDaniel of Arkadelphia, AR, Michael (Brandy) Snowden of Prescott, AR and Angela Newton of Delight, AR; and bonus daughters (adopted) Margie Snowden and (raised) Dorothy Jean Turner and a bonus son, Eddie L. (Amanda) Gentry of Florida; nineteen grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren. She also leaves her siblings, Edna A. McGuire of Dallas, TX, Bernie Piggee of Dallas, TX, Lucious Piggee of Arkadelphia, AR, Henry Clay Piggee pf Dallas, TX, Margie (James) Snowden of Delight, AR, Dorothy J. Turner of Dallas, TX and Johnny Piggee of Dallas, TX; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 We will miss her dearly, but we know, she’s in her new home, not made by the hands of man.

Public visitation will be Monday, May 10, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home, 1626 Logan Street. Services will be held graveside at Harrison Chapel Cemetery on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Alex Winfrey, eulogist.

Bearers of the casket will be Demitrius Preston, Michael Snowden, Jr., Derenzo Preston, Devonte Preston, Arkilious McDaniel and Jeffrey Newton, Jr. The honorary pallbearers will be Gregory McDaniel, Michael Watson, James Snowden, Jamico Snowden, Jasprinceston Snowden and Jadarian Newton.
