Pearline Gentry

June 11, 1933 — January 26, 2023

Pearline “Pearl” Gentry was born in Washington, Arkansas on June 11, 1933 and was the oldest child of Corean Muldrew.  The family later moved to North Little Rock, where she visited the Gum Street Church of Christ and was later baptized.  While attending there she met Clemon Gentry and they were later married July 6, 1951. They shared 66 years of marriage and were devoted to the Lord and each other.  To this union was born six sons.  Pearl was a stay-at-home mom while her husband worked to support the family. When her husband began to preach the gospel in the central Arkansas area, she supported her husband and maintained a good reputation as a Christian woman.

Pearl was a virtuous woman like the one described in Proverbs 31.  She first dedicated her life to the Lord and through him put all her energies into being a faithful wife and mother as she raised her family. While living a Christian life, setting a good example and being a woman of integrity, she did not pretend to be happy, she was truly happy.  She was quiet, unassuming, loving, kind, and patient. She did not exalt herself, but exalted Christ! She remained a faithful member of the 11th and Pine Street Church of Christ in Arkadelphia until her death.  Great was her faithfulness!

In her 89th season of life Pearl passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings (John Henry Muldrew, Billy Muldrew, Rosetta Muldrew, and Nathaniel Muldrew) and her husband (Clemon Gentry, Sr.).  She leaves to cherish her memory: her six sons, Clemon (Rose) Gentry, Jr. of Arkadelphia, AR, Neal (Fay) Gentry, of Little Rock, AR, Joe (Diann) Gentry of DeSoto, TX, James (Phyllis) Gentry of Little Rock, AR, John (Adrianne) Gentry of Poland, OH, and Jacob Gentry of Honolulu, HI; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one sister, Mary Gilbert, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
