Ruby Jean Gulley-Zachery

"Mama Zach"
Ruby Jean Gulley Zachery was born on Feb 2, 1930 in Bluff City, Arkansas to the late Jessie Gulley and Mae Bell Haynie Gulley. She was the 6th of 7 children. She was united in Holy Matrimony to John Thomas Zachery and to this union two children were born, Thomas Ray Zachery, and Robert Lewis Zachery. During her time on earth she worked at the Garment Factory, Prescott Manor, Hudson Foods, and Firestone where she made many life-long friends. She retired from Firestone in 1992.
She attended Cothran Chapel CME in Prescott, Arkansas with her husband but never joined because her heart belonged to Union Grove where she was a choir member and the Mother of the Church in 2015. When her health began to fail her and she could no longer make it to Union Grove she would attend Macedonia Baptist church in Boughton, Ar., under Pastor Lonnie Hughes. She enjoyed fellowshipping with Pastor Hughes and all of the members of the church.
"Mama Zach" was well known, well loved, and respected by all ages. She was a mother to everyone that came across her path. She loved her family dearly and was especially crazy about her “grand babies”.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, three sisters, Bertha Bradley, Rosie Gulley, Bessie Dansby and brothers, Barry Gulley and Rell Gulley who passed away at age 11.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Thomas R. Zachery of Rockford, IL and Robert L. (Calvin Jean) Zachery of Prescott, AR; one sibling, Jessie “Little Jessie” Gulley of Palo Alto, CA; 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great–great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, beloved cousins and friends.

Public visitation will be from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A celebration of her life will be shared at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Union Grove Baptist Church in Bluff City, Arkansas with Pastor Lonnie Hughes, eulogist.
Pallbearers will be Jason Zachery, Chris Zachery, Randy Zachery, Andrew Purifoy, Jameson Threadgill and Marvin Cheatham. Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas R Zachery, Robert L Zachery, Trinity Zachery, Brendon Zachery, Jaylen Zachery, Ryan Zachery, JaCaylon Zachery, Jason Zachery Jr, Jaden Zachery, Randall Zachery Jr and the Deacons of Union Grove Baptist Church.
