Thedrit Parker Sr. was born on February 2, 1951 in Wynne, Arkansas, to his loving mother, Louise Parker- Vann. He graduated from Childress High School before attending Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, where he earned his degree in 1975.
At an early age, Thedrit confessed his hope and faith in Jesus Christ at The First Baptist Church of Whittsburg. After graduating from Lane College, he relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, where he became a longtime member of Grace Christian Fellowship. He later united with Greater Community Temple Church of God in Christ, where he continued to grow in his faith and deepen his relationship with Christ. In time, he returned to Arkansas and joined Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. There, he faithfully served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher, sharing God's Word with wisdom, humility, and a servant's heart. He remained steadfast in his faith and devoted to God's work, faithfully continuing his walk with the Lord until he was called home to rest in His eternal peace.
While attending Lane College, Thedrit met the love of his life, Eveyln. The two were united in marriage on August 16, 1975, beginning a beautiful journey built on faith, love, and unwavering commitment. Together, they lovingly raised three children Thedrit “TJ” Parker Jr (Nicole), Terrance “Marlon” Parker (Maureen), and Charity Westbrook (David), cherished their eight grandchildren, and delighted in the blessing of one great-grandchild. Their home was filled with love, laughter, and enduring family bonds, leaving a legacy of compassion, devotion, and togetherness that will continue for generations.
He was a devoted man of God, a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a faithful friend whose life was defined by hard work, unwavering faith, and a heart for serving others. He lived each day with humility, integrity, and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
A hardworking man, he believed in providing for his family and embraced every responsibility with determination and pride. No matter the challenges he faced, he met them with courage and perseverance. Even as he battled illness, his faith never wavered. He faced life's trials with strength, grace, and an unshakable trust in God, becoming an example of resilience to those around him.
His love for the Lord was the foundation of his life. He faithfully served his church, found joy in worship, and remained committed to living according to God's Word. More than anything, he desired for his family to know and love the Lord. He faithfully taught his children the importance of Scripture, prayer, and living a life of faith, leaving them with a spiritual legacy that will continue for generations.
He was a devoted husband who loved his wife wholeheartedly, and together they built a home centered on faith, love, and family. He was a proud father whose greatest joy was watching his children grow, guiding them with wisdom, patience, and unconditional love. His family was his greatest treasure, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Known for his unique sense of humor, he had a remarkable ability to make people laugh, even during difficult times. His quick wit, warm smile, and joyful spirit brought comfort and happiness to those around him. He never met a stranger and had a special gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and understood.
He was easy to talk to and always willing to listen without judgment. Whether someone needed advice, encouragement, or simply a caring ear, he was there. His understanding nature and gentle spirit made him a trusted friend and confidant to many.
Though he is deeply missed, his example of faith, perseverance, generosity, and love lives on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him. His legacy is found not only in the lives he touched but also in the faith he passed on to those he loved most.
Having been called home to glory, he is now reunited with his beloved mother Louise Parker-Vann, and his siblings, A.C. Haskins, Kenneth Parker, Terry Lee Parker, Luella Wilson, Leeanner Parker- Hopson, who preceded him in death. He is lovingly remembered by his sister Margaret Jones, and his brother Jasper Parker. He will also be fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
He will be remembered as a faithful servant of God, a devoted husband and father, a hardworking man of honor, and a friend to all. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
May his memory continue to be a source of strength and comfort, and may the faith he lived so faithfully remain a lasting legacy for his family and everyone whose life he touched.
