Wayne McGhee

July 29, 1945 — December 2, 2019

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Wayne Edward McGhee was born July 29, 1945 in Clark County to Mary Lee McKinney. Wayne was an only child and was raised by his mother and his grandmother Lula Mae Threadgill whom he affectionally called “Mama Lula”.Wayne was a fun-loving guy who never met a stranger and made many friends throughout his lifetime. Where there was a gathering, you could count on Wayne being part of the crowd. He earned the nickname “quick draw” and there was never a dull moment when he was around. He was a smooth operator and if you ever met him you never forgot him.Wayne was a logger and he fulfilled his dream of owning his own company; W & B Trucking. His CB handle was “Outlaw”; he was a hard worker and a great provider for those that he loved. He was the proud owner and operator of W & B Trucking until his health began to fail. Wayne would later become a resident of Courtyard Garden and Rehabilitation in Arkadelphia. True to his nature he remained a character and took delight in being visited by friends and family. He was a stepfather to many and was always glad to see his “bonus babies.”Though Wayne lived an exciting life, he left rather peacefully. On December 2, 2019, he transitioned from earth to eternity leaving a great void in the hearts of all who loved him. Wayne was preceded in death by his Mother, Grandmother, and a son Alex McGhee. He leaves a lasting impression and numerous memories to his sons Tim and Eric McGhee, daughter Kamille Bryant of Prescott, AR; his stepchildren who were an added bonus and a blessing to him; Stephanie Gulley-Moore, Tara (Stanley) McClelland, Jennifer Page, Knidreya Page, Keirere (Kevin) Fulks; Kristian (Jeffrey) Newton, Cullen Ray Gulley, Jr; Michael Sorrells, Frederick Page and several grandchildren and bonus grandchildren. Wayne also leaves several cousins and friends. Graveside service will be held Monday, December 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hedge Cemetery, Gurdon.   Family SentimentThe family of Wayne Edward McGhee would like to extend our sincere appreciation for the kindness exhibited during this difficult time. Wayne was truly a legend and he will be missed by all. Special thanks to Courtyard Garden and Rehabilitation Center, Williams Funeral Home, Rev. James Giles, and our numerous friends and family for their support.
