Kenneth Lamar Hendrix

October 9, 1973 — September 11, 2015

Kenneth Lamar Hendrix was born on October 9, 1973. He was the oldest son of Bobby Pollins and Gloria Hendrix. “Onion” - as he was known – was a tested, tried and true friend. He was a former employee of PPG Industries. He enjoyed fishing, sports and boxing. Onion was an amateur boxer. He was often thought of as a gentle-giant with his crushing jab and hook. Slow of foot but redeemingly fast of hands, he dominated the boxing ring. Kenneth was a family oriented man, who found joy in being with his family. Although he never met a stranger people were just drawn to his friendly demeanor and his fun loving nature. He knew how to keep a person laughing. Onion kept it 100 and will be truly missed. On Friday, September 11, 2015, he transitioned from this life and lives again. His mother Gloria Hendrix predeceased him in death on November 27, 2001, as well as, his brother, Keith Hendrix; grandmothers, Louise Beard and Virdie Pollins and his grandfather, Ulysses Pollins. Because love is far greater than death, his memory will live on with his children: Kenneth L. Hendrix, Jr., and Kenesha Hendrix both of Bryant, AR; his parents, Bobby (Earnestine) Pollins of Bryant, AR; one sisters, Gloria Hendrix of Arkadelphia, AR; two brothers, Xavier (Sarita) Hendrix of Brant, AR and Timothy (Deandra Berry) of Maumelle, AR; step-brother, Cedric Banks of Atlanta, GA and a step-sister, Wanda Barnes of Little Rock, AR; two uncles, Jimmy (Martha) Pollins and Bennie Pollins both of Okolona, AR. He also leaves nephews, Timothy Hendrix Jr., Xavier Hendrix Jr., and nieces, Allyson Hendrix, Sierra Hendrix, other relatives, special friends Michael Smith of Hot Springs and Kenneth Green of Little Rock and numerous other friends. A Celebration of his life will be shared on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Okolona with Rev. Norman Hale, officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12 noon 6 p.m. Interment will be in First Baptist Cemetery in Okolona.
