Quartez T. Burton

September 23, 1998 — December 30, 2022

The life of Quartez T. Burton nicknamed “DADA” came to a close on Friday, December 30, 2022. He was born September 23, 1998, to Veronica Yvette Crow and Winfred Burton in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He attended Gurdon High School and never ran from a challenge. Quartez was supportive of his friends and family. He enjoyed listening to rap music and sharing laughter with anyone he met. Quartez was employed as a utility worker for Anthony Timberlands.

Family, as well as friends, will miss his smile and love, but will never forget his sense of humor. Although Quartez lived what some may call a short life, those who were touched by him understood that the quality of his existence far exceeded the quantity of time many of us spent with him.

Quartez was preceded in death by his mother, Veronica Y. Crow (August 1, 2012); grandparents, Darlene Hughes, Terry Crow and Ella "Sista Cat" Burton, and great-grandmother Gennie V. Cunningham.

Because love is far greater than death, his love will continue to live in the hearts of his father and bonus mother, Winfred and Samantha Burton of Gurdon; one brother, Montago Crow of Gurdon, AR; three sisters, T’Nesha Burton, and Jasmine Charles both of Arkadelphia, and Kanei Russey of Arkadelphia. He also leaves Legend Buford whom he loved and cherished as a son; his niece and nephews, Brayden, Bryce, Braya and Zamarrion; his maternal aunts and uncle, Latoya Britton and Shelia Tidwell of Gurdon, and Michael D. Hughes of Arkadelphia, as well as, a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Public visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the funeral home. Services will be shared at noon on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at New Mt Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Rufus Hatley, officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his mother at Rose Hedge Cemetery.
